On Sept. 8, 2014, St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located on the campus of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, joined the Texas Cord Blood Bank’s (TCBB) cord blood collection program, making it a certified cord blood collection site. The TCBB, housed on the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center’s San Antonio campus, is a nonprofit program established in 2001 to collect umbilical cord blood, which can benefit patients—usually children—suffering from a number of potentially fatal diseases.

BioBridge Global and its nonprofit affiliate, The Blood & Tissue Center Foundation, are pleased to announce the Foundation’s annual marquee fundraising event, the Red and White Ball. The ball will be held at the Marriott Rivercenter on Saturday, Sept. 27, with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner and dancing at 7 p.m.
Dr. Michael and Kim Fischer and Dr. Fernando and Beverly Guerra are co-chairs of the 2014 Red and White Ball.

BioBridge Global (BBG) is a nonprofit company that oversees and supports The Blood and Tissue Center Foundation, QualTex Laboratories, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center, and GenCure. Its mission is to bridge critical medical needs with innovative solutions. The black menu bar has links to information such as About BioBridge, Get Involved, Employment, and Contact Information. There is also a convenient drop down menu to connect to any subsidiary of the BBG network.

The organization’s board created the holding company in 2012 to oversee and support its main business units, which include STBTC, QualTex Laboratories and GenCure, as well as the Blood and Tissue Center Foundation.
